Dear Editor: Clean energy is one of the fastest growing industries in Wisconsin, with almost 7% growth in 2022. There are over 55,000 jobs in energy efficiency alone.

That’s why I’m glad Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm took the time to celebrate Wisconsin’s clean energy workers and businesses last week. She touted the made-in-America economic and infrastructure agenda, boosted by 2021’s Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and 2022’s Inflation Reduction Act.

These historic laws really are making a difference for small businesses and everyday families in our state. I know. I started my career in clean energy over 20 years ago. This is the best time to be a clean energy worker — and consumer.

They’re job-creating, bridge-building, factory-boosting laws, and with them Wisconsinites can see their communities grow and their bills shrink, especially if they use the new tax credits and incentives to upgrade appliances, weatherize rooms or switch to electric vehicles or solar power.

There is a lot worth celebrating in Wisconsin thanks to federal investments, and I’m proud to be a part of it.
